Dr. Kate Darling is a research affiliate at the MIT Media Lab and leads the ethics & society research team at RAI (Robotics and AI Institute). She is the author of THE NEW BREED: What Our History with Animals Reveals about Our Future with Robots. Kate’s work explores the intersections of robotic technology and society, with a particular interest in legal, economic, social, and ethical issues. She runs experiments and field work, holds workshops, writes, and speaks about some of the more interesting developments in the world of human-robot interaction, and where we will find ourselves in the future.
